April's books, discussion, and activities are for all grades.

To "officially"sign up to participate in this month's discussion and activities, please join the Wiki. Then, post on the Discussion Board under "Introduce Yourself" thread by 3:00 Friday, April 17.
The April book selection if the participants' choice of ONE book from
EITHER the 2014 Robert F. Sibert Informational Award Winner or Honor book
OR the 2014 YALSA Award for Excellence in Nonfiction for Young Adults.

Click on the links to see these book choices. Make sure you look at the 2014 Award and Honor books!

Participants are responsible for obtaining a copy of the book.

Participants are expected to:
  • Read the assigned book for the month.
  • Respond to the discussion questions
  • Respond to other parcipants answers in separate posts.
  • Create a lesson using the book.
  • Meet together for 1 hours to further discuss the books and share lesson plans.
Discussions need to be posted and Lessons need to be emailed by 9:00 PM Sunday, April 26.
We will meet to discuss the books on Monday, April 27 from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM in the Timken Library. Please enter the Timken Commons from the 4th floor parking lot at Door 2. The Library is on the second floor, up the big, blue staircase.
